7 Best Later Alternatives for Instagram and TikTok (2026)

Later charges $25 a month for one set of profiles, one user and 30 posts per profile each month, and it has no free plan. For a brand that wants one flat price however many channels it connects, the Later alternative built for that is PostWharf: from $15 a month ($10 billed yearly), with unlimited channels in each brand workspace. High Street has a financial interest in PostWharf (how we handle that). If you run marketing for a UAE small business and want to schedule Instagram and TikTok somewhere else, seven tools pass our bar, ranked below by what a one-brand setup costs: Publer, PostWharf, Buffer, Metricool, Postiz, SocialBee and SocialPilot. If you want to start free, Buffer, Metricool and Publer each have a free plan. Every price comes from the vendor's own pages, read on 16 October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • One brand, many channels, one price: PostWharf bills per brand workspace, not per channel, from $15 a month. It publishes to ten networks including Instagram and TikTok. Its pages describe no analytics reports and no social inbox.
  • A free start: Buffer Free covers 3 channels, Metricool Free covers 1 brand (without LinkedIn or X) and Publer Free covers 3 accounts. Each caps scheduling, so check the cap against how often you post.
  • Priced by account or channel: Publer starts at $5 a month for 1 account and Buffer at $6 a month per channel. For a brand on three channels that is $12 and $18 a month, against $25 for Later Starter.
  • Link in Bio, inbox and reports: Buffer has a Start Page link-in-bio builder, Metricool has Smartlinks, and SocialPilot adds a social inbox and analytics from Standard at $50 a month.
  • Left out: Sendible starts at $35 a month, and Agorapulse, Hootsuite and Sprout Social at $99 per user or seat. All four sit above our price bar (see "What we left out").

How this list works

The question we answered: which tools can take over from Later for a small business that schedules to Instagram and TikTok? We read each vendor's own pricing and feature pages and recorded them on 16 October 2026. We did not test the tools, and nothing below is a rating: it is what the vendors publish, with the date we read it. Prices are in US dollars, as published.

A tool made the list if it met all three of these:

  1. It publishes to both Instagram and TikTok, on the vendor's own network list.
  2. It has a self-serve plan with a published price.
  3. Its starting plan costs $30 a month or less for one user on monthly billing. Later Starter is $25, so we left $5 of room.

Seven tools passed. The order comes from one worked example: a single brand with one user and three channels (Instagram, TikTok and Facebook), priced on the cheapest paid plan that covers it, lowest monthly price first. Where two cost the same, the lower yearly price goes first. We priced the paid plan and show the free plan beside it, because free plans cap scheduling. Price is not quality, so each entry also says where the tool falls short and who it suits.

Two cautions for a UAE business. Our record holds US dollar prices only, with no prices in dirhams and nothing on Arabic-language support, so check both on the vendor's page before you pay. And Metricool and Publer list their prices without VAT, and the currency their pages show can vary by region.

Where Later stands

Later is a visual planner that auto-publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat. It also has best times to post for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and a Link in Bio page. It bills by social set, which is one profile per network: Starter is $25 a month ($18.75 billed yearly) for 1 social set (8 profiles), 1 user and 30 posts per profile per month. Growth is $50 ($37.50 billed yearly) for 2 social sets, 2 users and 180 posts per profile per month, and adds approvals and a social inbox for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments and DMs. Scale is $110 ($82.50 billed yearly) for 6 social sets, 4 users and unlimited posts. There is a 14-day free trial and no free plan.

Three limits are worth weighing against your own plan: the 30-post monthly cap per profile on Starter, the missing networks (X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile are not supported), and a bill that moves by plan, in social sets and users, rather than by channel. Stay on Later if you rely on its Link in Bio page or its Growth inbox and you stay inside its networks and post caps.

1. Publer (best for paying only for the accounts you connect)

Publer schedules to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram and WordPress. It has a calendar, an auto-scheduling queue, recurring posts, first-comment and thread scheduling, and bulk scheduling of up to 500 posts from a CSV file.

What it costs. Professional is $5 a month for 1 social account ($4 billed yearly), $12 for 3 accounts and $20 for 5, with each extra team member adding $2 a month. Business is $10 a month for 1 account ($8 billed yearly). The Free plan gives 1 user, 1 workspace, 3 social accounts (no X), 10 scheduled posts per account, 25 saved drafts and a 24-hour post history. Trials run 7 days on Professional and 14 days on Business, and prices exclude VAT.

Strength. The bill follows the accounts you connect, and Professional already includes unlimited scheduling, X, first comments and threads, and unlimited workspaces.

Where it falls short. Analytics, best times to post, competitor analysis, unlimited AI prompts, the API and the MCP server all need Business. Cost grows with every profile and member, daily posting limits apply per profile, and the free plan's 10 scheduled posts per account suit a trial run more than a working month.

Pick it if you run one to five accounts and want to pay per account. Start with the Free plan on your Instagram and TikTok accounts, and count a month's posts against the cap before you upgrade.

2. PostWharf (best for one flat price per brand)

PostWharf is a publishing tool that bills per brand. You connect every account a brand runs, write a post once, change the wording for each network, and publish now or on a schedule to ten networks: Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Telegram. Each brand gets its own workspace with its own channels, drafts, queue and history. After a post goes out, it is re-checked and shown with one row per network, and failed deliveries retry and show the reason. Posts drafted through an AI assistant wait for your approval before they go out. If that is how you want to work, our guide to automating social media posting with AI covers keeping control of it.

What it costs. Starter is $15 a month ($10 billed yearly) for 1 workspace, unlimited channels and 200 scheduled posts a month, with the REST API, MCP server, CLI and webhooks on every plan. Startup is $29 ($23 billed yearly) for 3 workspaces and 400 posts a month. Plus is $67 ($54) for 10 workspaces and 1,000 posts, and Pro is $99 ($79) for unlimited workspaces and 2,500 posts. There is no free plan, only a 7-day free trial of Starter, and the card is charged when the trial ends.

Strength. Adding a channel does not change the bill, because Starter has no per-channel fee.

Where it falls short. There is no free plan, and scheduled posts are capped each month, from 200 on Starter to 2,500 on Pro. Reddit, Discord, Snapchat and WordPress are available on request only and cannot be connected yet. Its pages do not describe analytics reports or a social inbox for replies, and it is listed for web and the command line only. Our record does not say whether one post sent to several networks counts once or several times against the cap, so ask before you rely on 200.

Pick it if you run one or more brands across several networks, want a flat price per brand, and want the option of posting from an AI assistant, a script, Zapier, Make or n8n. Start with one workspace for your main brand, and note the day the 7-day trial ends.

3. Buffer (best for a handful of channels and a free start)

Buffer publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Google Business Profile and Substack. It has a posting queue, a visual content calendar, drafts and an ideas board, a community inbox for replying to comments, and a Start Page link-in-bio builder. A public API and an MCP server for AI tools come on every plan, including Free.

What it costs. Buffer bills per connected channel. Free is $0 for up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, 1 user and 30 days of insights. Essentials is $6 per channel per month ($5 billed yearly), which makes 3 channels $18 a month ($15 billed yearly). Team is $12 per channel per month ($10 billed yearly) and adds unlimited team members, approval workflows and branded reports. Both paid plans have a 14-day free trial.

Strength. A free plan for 3 channels, plus a link-in-bio builder, and an API and MCP server on every plan, including Free.

Where it falls short. After you upgrade, the 3 channels that were free are billed too. Essentials includes 1 user, and approvals need Team. Instagram personal profiles and Facebook groups get reminder notifications only, not automatic publishing.

Pick it if you run up to three channels and want a free plan to begin with. Start with a check of which kind of Instagram profile you have, because a personal profile only gets reminders. If Buffer's per-channel bill is what you are leaving, our Buffer alternatives compare tools at larger channel counts.

4. Metricool (best for a free start with ads reporting)

Metricool plans and analyses posts for Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and X, and reports on Meta, Google and TikTok ads. The planner has auto publishing, best times, autolists and RSS feeds. It also has an inbox, Smartlinks link-in-bio pages, and an MCP server on every plan.

What it costs. Metricool bills by brand tier, where each brand holds one profile per network. Free is $0 for 1 brand, with all networks except LinkedIn and X, 20 scheduled posts per month, 5 competitor profiles and 30 days of analytics. Starter is from $25 a month ($20 billed yearly) for up to 5 brands, or $45 ($36) for 10 brands, with unlimited publishing under fair use and LinkedIn included. Advanced is from $67 ($53 billed yearly) for 15 brands, with team and client management, post approvals and the API. X costs $10 a month per connected account on top, and prices exclude VAT. Its pricing page lists no free trial.

Strength. One Starter plan covers up to 5 brands, and the free plan reaches every network except LinkedIn and X, with 30 days of analytics. The same tool reports on Meta, Google and TikTok ads.

Where it falls short. The free plan has no LinkedIn or X and caps scheduling at 20 posts per month. Approvals, team roles and the API need Advanced, and Advanced Analytics is an add-on from $12 a month on Starter.

Pick it if you manage a few brands or want organic and paid reporting in one place. Start with the Free plan for one brand, and count your monthly posts against the 20-post cap.

5. Postiz (best for self-hosting or posting from AI agents)

Postiz is an open-source scheduler (AGPL-3.0) that publishes to 34 platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord and Bluesky. An MCP server, CLI, public REST API and webhooks come on every plan, and it adds AI copilot features and analytics for impressions, likes, comments and shares.

What it costs. Hosted plans are priced by connected channels. Standard is $29 a month ($23 billed yearly) for 5 channels, unlimited posts and no team members. Team is $39 ($31) for 10 channels, Pro is $49 ($39) for 30 channels, and Ultimate is $99 ($79) for 100 channels, all with unlimited team members. Every hosted plan has a 7-day free trial; a card is required and checked with a small authorisation. Self-hosting the open-source code is free.

Strength. It is the only tool here you can host yourself, and it lists 34 supported platforms.

Where it falls short. There is no free hosted plan, and Standard has no team members. Self-hosting means registering your own developer app with most networks, which can take weeks for Meta, YouTube and TikTok. Annual plans are not refundable, and it is listed for web only.

Pick it if someone on your side can run a server, or you want an AI agent to schedule through MCP. Start with the decision between hosted and self-hosted, because the developer-app work for Instagram and TikTok is the slow part of self-hosting.

6. SocialBee (best for recycling posts by category)

SocialBee schedules posts by content category to ten networks, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Bluesky. It recycles posts and sets them to expire, adds AI content generation and an engagement inbox, and sends mobile reminders for networks that do not allow direct posting.

What it costs. Bootstrap is $29 a month ($290 billed annually, or $24 a month) for 5 social profiles, 1 user and 1 workspace, with 10 content categories and 3 months of analytics. Accelerate is $49 a month ($490 billed annually) for 10 profiles and adds advanced analytics, a bulk editor, CSV uploads and post approval. Pro is $99 a month ($990 billed annually) for 25 profiles and 3 users per workspace. Extra users and workspaces cost $10 a month each, and 5 more profiles cost $15 a month. The 14-day free trial needs no card, and posting stops when it ends.

Strength. The category-based schedule suits a brand that reuses evergreen posts on a steady rhythm.

Where it falls short. There is no free plan. Bootstrap lacks advanced analytics, the bulk editor, CSV uploads and post approval. Its pages do not describe a public API or an MCP server, so automation runs through Zapier, Make or Pabbly.

Pick it if you are a freelancer or small business with a handful of profiles and a library of evergreen content. Start with your content categories (what you post, and how often), because the whole schedule is built on them.

7. SocialPilot (best for a team that will need an inbox and approvals)

SocialPilot schedules to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile and Bluesky. It has smart queues, a calendar, first comments, repeat posts and posts from RSS feeds, an AI writing assistant, mobile apps, and an MCP server on every plan.

What it costs. Essentials is $30 a month ($25.50 billed annually) for 7 social accounts, 1 user and 500 AI credits, with extra accounts at $4 a month each. Standard is $50 ($42.50 billed annually) for 15 accounts and 3 users, and adds a social inbox, analytics and manager approval. Premium is $100 ($85 billed annually) for 25 accounts and 6 users, with bulk scheduling, client approval and white-label reports. The 14-day free trial needs no card.

Strength. One vendor covers the step from a one-person scheduler (Essentials) to a shared inbox, analytics and manager approval (Standard), and client approval (Premium).

Where it falls short. There is no free plan. Essentials has no analytics, social inbox or approvals, and bulk scheduling and CSV upload start on Premium. API access is on the Enterprise plan only.

Pick it if you start as one person but expect a small team, or a client who needs to approve posts. Start with a count of your accounts: Essentials includes 7, and each one beyond that adds $4 a month.

What we left out

Four tools in our data publish to Instagram and TikTok but miss the price bar.

  • Sendible starts at $35 a month ($30 billed yearly) for 1 workspace of 6 profiles with unlimited users. It is aimed at agencies and multi-location brands, and approval workflows start on Plus at $99 a month. It missed the bar by $5.
  • Agorapulse starts at $99 per user a month ($79 billed annually), with 10 social profiles shared across users and a unified inbox.
  • Hootsuite starts at $99 per user a month, billed annually. Its plans page does not show a monthly rate, and Standard covers up to 10 social accounts.
  • Sprout Social starts at $99 per seat a month ($79 billed annually), with 5 social profiles on Essentials.

These suit teams that spend the day in an inbox and report to stakeholders. Our Hootsuite alternatives price per-user tools for a team, and our scheduling tools for agencies cover client workspaces.

What to set up first

  1. Count your channels and your monthly posts. Later Starter allows 30 posts per profile per month. Metricool Free allows 20 posts a month, Publer Free 10 scheduled posts per account and PostWharf Starter 200 scheduled posts a month. Pick the billing unit (brand, account or channel) that matches how you post.
  2. Check your Instagram profile type if you are looking at Buffer, since personal profiles get reminders instead of automatic publishing.
  3. Start free where you can. Buffer, Metricool and Publer have free plans; Postiz is free to self-host. PostWharf and Postiz take a card for their 7-day trials, SocialBee and SocialPilot do not, and SocialBee stops posting when its 14-day trial ends.
  4. Replace Later's Link in Bio before you cancel. Buffer lists a Start Page and Metricool lists Smartlinks; the others here do not describe one.
  5. Budget for tax and currency. Metricool and Publer list prices without VAT, and every figure here is in US dollars.
