Key takeaways
- Lowest published price for one brand on five accounts: PostWharf, $15 a month, with unlimited channels. Publer is next at $20, then Metricool and Later at $25.
- Free plans: Buffer (up to 3 channels), Publer (3 social accounts, no X/Twitter) and Metricool (1 brand, no LinkedIn or X/Twitter). Postiz has no free hosted plan, only a 7-day trial that needs a card.
- Postiz-style automation: PostWharf and Buffer include an API and an MCP server on every plan, Metricool and SocialPilot include the MCP server, and Publer holds both back for its Business plan, which costs $35 a month at five accounts. Later and SocialBee list neither.
- Stay on Postiz if you want to self-host, need Reddit or Discord, or want 34 platforms in one tool. Its Ultimate plan allows 100 channels.
The seven at a glance, priced for five accounts
The reference setup is one brand, one user and five accounts: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. All seven tools below publish to all five on a paid plan. Postiz Standard is the baseline row.
| # | Tool | 5 accounts, monthly | Billed yearly | Free plan or trial | API or MCP at that price | Priced by |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | PostWharf Starter | $15 | $10 | No free plan; 7-day trial | REST API, MCP server and CLI on every plan | Workspace (one brand), unlimited channels |
| 2 | Publer Professional | $20 | Not recorded for 5 accounts | Free plan (3 accounts, no X/Twitter); 7-day trial | None; API and MCP need Business ($35) | Social account |
| 3 | Metricool Starter | $25 | $20 | Free plan (1 brand, no LinkedIn or X/Twitter) | MCP server on every plan; REST API from Advanced | Brand tier (up to 5 brands) |
| 4 | Later Starter | $25 | $18.75 | No free plan; 14-day trial | None listed | Social set (8 profiles) |
| 5 | SocialBee Bootstrap | $29 | $24 | No free plan; 14-day trial | None listed | Social profile (5 included) |
| 6 | Buffer Essentials | $30 | $25 | Free plan (up to 3 channels); 14-day trial | API and MCP server on every plan | Channel |
| 7 | SocialPilot Essentials | $30 | $25.50 | No free plan; 14-day trial | MCP server on every plan; API on Enterprise only | Social account (7 included) and user |
| Postiz Standard (baseline) | $29 | $23 | No free hosted plan; 7-day trial; self-hosting is free | API, MCP server and CLI on every plan | Channel count (5 included), no team members |
Buffer's totals are five channels at $6 each monthly and at $5 each billed yearly. Metricool's $25 tier covers up to 5 brands, so one brand costs the same. Publer's yearly price was recorded for one account only ($4 a month), so the yearly cell is left open.
How this list works
The question. Which hosted scheduler replaces Postiz for a small UAE business with one brand, a few social accounts and no appetite for running a server?
Source. Each tool's own pricing and feature pages, as recorded on 16 October 2026. The read date sits next to every entry and in the sources list at the end. This is a comparison of published plans and what the vendors say they include, so there are no star ratings or review scores here.
The bar. A tool is on the list only if all three are true:
- It is a hosted service, so there is no server to run.
- It publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube on a paid plan.
- Its published price for the reference setup is $30 a month or less on monthly billing, which keeps it level with Postiz Standard's $29.
The reference setup. One brand, one user, five accounts, monthly billing, in US dollars. Metricool and Publer can show another currency by region, so check the amount at checkout.
The ranking. Entries are ordered by the monthly price of the reference setup, lowest first. Ties go to the tool with a free plan. A price order is not a quality order, so each entry says what it is best for, where it falls short and who should pick something else. PostWharf met the same bar and sits under the same price rule as the other six.
Read and left out. Four more tools were read and fall above the bar. Sendible Core is $35/mo (or $30/mo billed yearly) for 6 social profiles with unlimited users. Agorapulse Standard is $99/user/mo, Hootsuite Standard is $99 per user/mo billed annually and Sprout Social Essentials is $99 per seat/mo; all three bill per user. If you manage several clients or a team, our Hootsuite alternatives guide prices tools for three users, and our guide to schedulers for agencies compares ten.
Postiz in 2026: what it costs and who should stay
Postiz publishes to 34 platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord and Bluesky, and AI agents can drive it through its MCP server, CLI and public API. Hosted plans are priced by connected channels, with unlimited posts: Standard is $29/mo, or $23/mo billed yearly, for 5 channels and no team members; Team is $39/mo, or $31/mo billed yearly, for 10 channels; Pro is $49/mo, or $39/mo billed yearly, for 30 channels; Ultimate is $99/mo, or $79/mo billed yearly, for 100 channels. There is no free hosted plan, and every hosted plan starts with a 7-day free trial that needs a card, which is checked with a small authorisation.
The code is open source under AGPL-3.0 and can be self-hosted for free, with unlimited channels, posts and team members. The catch is that you register your own developer app with most networks, which can take weeks for Meta, YouTube and TikTok. Annual plans are not refundable.
Stay on Postiz if you want to run it yourself, post to community channels such as Reddit or Discord (none of the seven alternatives lists either as a live network), or want one tool across its 34 platforms. Move if you want a hosted tool, a free plan, or a bill that does not rise with every account.
1. PostWharf (best for one brand on many networks, with API and MCP included)
PostWharf is a publishing tool built around one workspace per brand. You connect every account a brand runs, write a post once, adjust the wording for each network, and publish now or on a schedule to ten networks, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Bluesky. High Street has a financial interest in PostWharf (how we handle that). It ranks first because of the price rule in the method: it bills per workspace, which is one brand, with unlimited channels, so five accounts cost the same as one.
- Cost: Starter is $15/mo, or $10/mo billed yearly, for 1 workspace, unlimited channels and 200 scheduled posts a month. Startup is $29/mo, or $23/mo billed yearly, for 3 workspaces and 400 scheduled posts a month. Plus is $67/mo, or $54/mo billed yearly, for 10 workspaces and 1,000 scheduled posts a month. Pro is $99/mo, or $79/mo billed yearly, for unlimited workspaces and 2,500 scheduled posts a month. There is no free plan: Starter has a 7-day free trial, and the card is charged when the trial ends.
- Strength: Every post is re-checked after publishing, with one row per network, and failed deliveries retry automatically and show the reason in a status feed. The REST API, webhooks, an MCP server and the wharf CLI come with every plan, and posts drafted through an AI assistant wait for your approval before they go out.
- Limit: Starter caps scheduled posts at 200 a month. Reddit, Discord, Snapchat and WordPress are available on request only and cannot be connected yet. Its pages do not describe analytics reports or a social inbox for replies.
- Pick it if: you run one brand on several networks, want Postiz-style API and MCP access without a server, and would rather pay per brand than per channel.
- Set up first: Create the workspace for the brand, connect the networks it lists as live, and schedule one test post so you can read the delivery rows before you rely on the queue.
If your question is less "which scheduler" and more "do customers find us at all", a free visibility check shows where your business is named on Google, in Maps and by seven AI engines before you pay for any tool.

2. Publer (best for paying only for the accounts you connect, with a free plan)
Publer prices by connected social account, which suits a business that posts to a handful of profiles and wants to pay for exactly those. It publishes to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram and WordPress, with bulk scheduling, a calendar, post recycling, analytics and an AI assistant.
- Cost: Professional is $5/mo, or $4/mo billed yearly, for 1 social account; 3 accounts cost $12/mo and 5 accounts $20/mo. Each additional team member is $2/mo, the plan owner is included, and the listed prices do not include VAT. Business is $10/mo, or $8/mo billed yearly, for 1 social account, and 5 accounts cost $35/mo. The free plan gives 1 user, 1 workspace, 3 social accounts (no X/Twitter), 10 scheduled posts per account, 25 saved drafts and a 24-hour post history. Trials are 7 days on Professional and 14 days on Business.
- Strength: Bulk scheduling of up to 500 posts from a CSV file, an auto-scheduling queue, recurring posts and evergreen recycling, first-comment and thread scheduling, and workspaces with member roles and approval workflows.
- Limit: Cost grows with every profile and member: an extra member is $2 a month on Professional and $3 on Business. The REST API and MCP server are Business features, so Postiz-style automation costs $35/mo at five accounts, which is above this page's bar (the ranking uses Professional). Daily posting limits per profile apply.
- Pick it if: you post to three to five profiles, want a free plan to start on, and do not need API access.
- Set up first: Start on the free plan with the three accounts you post to most. X/Twitter is not on the free plan, so connect it only once you move to Professional.

3. Metricool (best for scheduling plus reporting, with a free plan)
Metricool pairs a planner with reporting. It publishes to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and X, and reports on organic posts and on Facebook, Google and TikTok ads.
- Cost: Pricing is by brand, not by seat or account. Starter is from $25/mo, or $20/mo billed annually, for up to 5 brands, and each brand holds one profile per network, so one brand on five networks costs $25 and so does a five-brand agency. A 10-brand Starter is $45/mo, or $36/mo billed annually. X/Twitter is not included: it adds $10 a month per connected account. Prices exclude VAT. The free plan covers 1 brand on every network except LinkedIn and X/Twitter, with 20 scheduled posts per month, 5 competitor profiles, 30 days of analytics, the AI assistant and the MCP server. The pricing page lists no standard free trial.
- Strength: Analytics and PDF or PPT reports for organic posts and ads, competitor analysis (5 profiles on Free, up to 100 on paid plans), an inbox for messages on several networks, and an MCP server on every plan including Free.
- Limit: LinkedIn is missing from the free plan and X costs extra. Approvals, team roles and the REST API need Advanced, from $67/mo, or $53/mo billed annually. The Advanced Analytics add-on starts at $12/month on Starter.
- Pick it if: you want scheduling and reporting in one place, a free plan to test with, or several brands under one bill.
- Set up first: Connect one brand on the free plan to try the planner, and remember that LinkedIn needs Starter. Leave X out of the budget unless you will post there, since each connected X account adds $10 a month.

4. Later (best for Instagram- and TikTok-led brands that plan visually)
Later is built around a visual calendar and auto-publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat. It adds a Link in Bio page, best-time-to-post suggestions for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and analytics.
- Cost: Starter is $25/mo, or $18.75/mo billed yearly, as a flat plan price rather than a per-channel fee: 1 social set (8 profiles, one per network), 1 user and 30 posts per profile per month. Growth is $50/mo, or $37.50/mo billed yearly, for 2 social sets (16 profiles), 2 users and 180 posts per profile per month; an extra social set is $15/mo and an extra user $5/mo. Scale is $110/mo, or $82.50/mo billed yearly, for 6 social sets and 4 users. There is no free plan, only a 14-day free trial.
- Strength: A price that does not move as you add networks within a set, a drag-and-drop calendar, a Link in Bio page, and a social inbox for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments and DMs on Growth and up.
- Limit: X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile are not supported networks. Starter allows 30 posts per profile per month, and its site mentions no public API or MCP server.
- Pick it if: Instagram and TikTok lead your marketing, you plan content on a calendar, and one person runs the accounts.
- Set up first: Count your accounts per network before you subscribe. Starter has one social set and no add-ons, so a second Instagram account would need a second social set, which starts at Growth.

5. SocialBee (best for recycling evergreen posts on a category schedule)
SocialBee schedules by content category: you file posts into categories and the posting schedule is built from them. It posts directly to Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Google Business Profile and Bluesky, and sends mobile reminders for networks without direct posting, such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Groups.
- Cost: Bootstrap is $29/mo, or $290/yr billed annually (about $24 a month), for 5 social profiles, 1 user and 1 workspace. Accelerate is $49/mo, or $490/yr billed annually, for 10 profiles with advanced analytics, a bulk editor, CSV uploads and post approval. Pro is $99/mo, or $990/yr billed annually, for 25 profiles, 3 users per workspace and 5 workspaces. Extra users and workspaces cost $10 a month each, and 5 more profiles cost $15 a month. The 14-day free trial needs no card, and posting stops when it ends.
- Strength: Category-based scheduling with recycling and expiring posts, unlimited AI captions and images, an engagement inbox for Facebook Pages and Instagram Business, and separate workspaces for clients on higher plans.
- Limit: Bootstrap keeps 3 months of analytics and lacks the bulk editor, CSV uploads and post approval. Its pages do not describe a public API or MCP server; automation runs through Zapier, Make or Pabbly.
- Pick it if: you have a library of evergreen content to repeat, manage about five profiles, and care more about the posting rhythm than about API access.
- Set up first: Build your content categories before you connect accounts, since the schedule comes from them, and use the trial to fill a month of posts before it ends.

6. Buffer (best for starting free and paying per channel)
Buffer prices by connected channel, so the bill follows the number of accounts you add. It publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon, Google Business Profile and Substack, with analytics and a community inbox for replying to comments.
- Cost: Essentials is $6 per channel/mo, or $5 per channel/mo billed yearly, so 5 channels cost $30/mo, or $25/mo billed yearly. Team is $12 per channel/mo, or $10 per channel/mo billed yearly, and adds unlimited team members, approval workflows and access levels. The Free plan covers up to 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, 100 ideas, 1 user, 30 days of insights and 1 API key with 3,000 requests/month. Essentials and Team both start with a 14-day free trial.
- Strength: A Free plan, plus a public GraphQL API with API keys and an MCP server on every plan including Free. It also has iOS and Android apps and a browser extension.
- Limit: After you upgrade, the 3 channels that were free are billed too. Essentials includes 1 user, so approvals and access levels mean Team, and Instagram personal profiles and Facebook groups get reminder notifications only, not automatic publishing.
- Pick it if: you run a few channels, want to start free, and want an API and MCP server without paying for them. For what the bill looks like at 10, 30 and 60 channels, see our Buffer alternatives guide.
- Set up first: Connect your three most important channels on Free and watch the 10-scheduled-post limit per channel before you decide to upgrade.
Source: Buffer's pricing page, MCP page and API page, read 16 October 2026.
7. SocialPilot (best for a small team that expects to add an inbox and approvals)
SocialPilot is built for agencies and small businesses and schedules to ten networks: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile and Bluesky.
- Cost: Essentials is $30/mo, or $25.50/mo billed annually, for 7 social accounts and 1 user; extra accounts cost $4 a month each. Standard is $50/mo, or $42.50/mo billed annually, for 15 social accounts, 3 users, a social inbox, analytics and manager approval. The 14-day free trial needs no credit card, and there is no free plan.
- Strength: Seven accounts at the entry price, an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools on every plan, iOS and Android apps, and Canva, Slack, Zapier and Google Drive integrations.
- Limit: Essentials has no analytics, social inbox or approvals. Bulk scheduling and CSV upload start on Premium, at $100/mo, and API access is only on the Enterprise plan.
- Pick it if: you have more than five accounts, or expect to add a second user and need an inbox and manager approval, and you want an MCP server included.
- Set up first: Use the trial to connect all the accounts you plan to add, then count them against the 7 included, since each one beyond that costs $4 a month.
Source: SocialPilot's plans page, MCP page and pricing file, read 16 October 2026.
What to set up first, whichever you choose
- List the accounts. Write down every account that posts and who logs in to it. The count decides which pricing model costs you least: per channel (Buffer), per social account (Publer, SocialPilot), per brand (PostWharf, Metricool) or per social set (Later).
- Use the trial or the free plan before the annual price. Trials run 7 days (PostWharf, charged to your card when it ends; Publer Professional), or 14 days (Later, SocialBee, Buffer, SocialPilot). Buffer, Publer and Metricool also have a free plan.
- Connect only networks the tool lists as live. PostWharf cannot yet connect Reddit, Discord, Snapchat or WordPress, Later has no X, Publer's free plan has no X/Twitter, and Metricool charges $10 a month per connected X account.
- If you drive Postiz from an AI agent today, check the plan, not just the tool. Publer needs Business for the API and MCP server, SocialPilot's API is Enterprise only, and Metricool's REST API starts on Advanced.
- Move to yearly billing last. Switch once a month of posting has gone well; the yearly column in the table shows what that saves.
Questions people ask
What is the best Postiz alternative for a small business?
For one brand on five accounts, PostWharf has the lowest published price on this page, $15 a month, and it includes a REST API, an MCP server and a CLI on every plan, as Postiz does. If you want a free plan first, Buffer covers up to 3 channels, Publer 3 social accounts and Metricool 1 brand. Metricool suits you if you want reports beside scheduling, and Later suits Instagram- and TikTok-led brands.
Is there a free alternative to Postiz?
Postiz itself has no free hosted plan, only a 7-day trial that needs a card, although its open-source code can be self-hosted for free. Of the seven alternatives, Buffer, Publer and Metricool have free plans: up to 3 channels on Buffer, 3 social accounts without X/Twitter on Publer, and 1 brand without LinkedIn or X/Twitter on Metricool.
Which Postiz alternatives have an MCP server?
PostWharf, Buffer, Metricool and SocialPilot include one on every plan. Publer's MCP server is on its Business plan. Later's and SocialBee's pages do not describe an API or an MCP server.
Can I self-host any of these tools?
No. Postiz is the open-source one, and its AGPL-3.0 code can be self-hosted for free. All seven alternatives here are hosted services, so there is no server to run.
